STEP 1 MAKING A CROWN BASE

a. Warm the floral tape with your hands and give it a gently stretch until it become slightly transparent to have good coverage. Wrapping the stretched transparent tape over itself makes it stick.

b. Take the wire, stretch and wind the tape tightly around the whole length of wire.

c. Simply pull the tape when it gets to the end and it will snap naturally.

d. Don't panic if your tape snap while you're covering the wire, just place the stretched tape back where it snap and continue winding down.

f. Create a teardrop shaped loop, at each end of the wire, by bending the wire back towards the middle part of the wire and secure it with your tape. Ensure your ribbon will be able to go through the loop, allow approximately 10mm hole.

g. Keep your wire straight for the next step, avoid bending the wire at this point.

STEP 2 FLOWER PREPARATION AND CONDITIONING

a. Cut the flower and foliage into small pieces.

You can cut them all the same length if you prefer an elegant and refine flower crown, or

Cut them at various different length if you are after a rustic garden look.

b. Strips off any leaves and clean the bottom part of the stems. This would help reduce the weight of the crown. Making your works finer and to ensure the tape will stick well to the stems.

STEP 3 FLOWER CROWN MAKING

a. Carefully bunch a few stems together, cut neatly the bottom of the stems leaving approximately two fingers long ( approx. 20mm) and place the first bunch at the end of the wire nearest to the loop.

b. Take your tape, stretch and wrap the stems tightly around the wire. This would secure your flower on the wire and lock the moisture in the flower stems.

c. Continue the above steps until the wire is covered. Place your next flower bunch by layering it over the previous stems to create a seamless look. Attach the flowers in the same direction.

It's up to you how you lay out the flowers and foliage, own your crown and be creative :)

d. Once you reach the end, make sure to cover the wire as close as possible to the end of the loop.

STEP 4 FINAL TOUCH AND CROWNING

a. Final Touch: Select your favourite ribbon colour, cut two pieces of ribbon and tie each one to a loop.

b. Crowning: Take the finish flower crown, place around your head and tie the ribbon as you wish. You might want to grab a friend to help you on your crowning process.

and Voilà! Well done on creating your flower crown!
